What I love about Austin::: {Barton Springs}

Abra my loveable roomie came home today for 24 hours! Where was she?

GONE FOR THE ENTIRE SUMMER at SUMMER CAMP! 

Its ok to make fun of her. In fact PLEASE remind her that she is oh (looks at watch) 23 YEARS OLD and needs to stop hanging out with 12 year olds on her 2 months away from 12 year olds (yes she is a teacher too...at my school)

So I might have personal motives considering Im lonely and Im freakin obsessed with Abra and want to be in her presence always. So the more people that give her a hard time for going away to summer camp, Parent Trap style, the better.

I was counting down the days until she came home and it motivated me to clean the house. It looks ballin. 

Today, La Russian  picked Abra and I up and we crossed another -Vacation in Austin- hot spot off of our list. We went to Barton Springs. It was perfect on this sweltering day. The natural spring was cool and refreshing..and did i mention cool. 

Abra and I will definitely become regulars...oh wait....not until next summer when she decides to be in her 20's again and we start ligering around Austin in search of young professionals. That is if I make it back from England. (15 days!)

Tiny Dancers do NYE

So Im a few days late..so Im going to catch up on my posting and post a couple today.


New Years Eve was GREAT, considering. Food poisoning left me absolutely nauseous the entire day. I would have totally stayed home that night if "La Russian" didn't drive up from Austin and if I didn't shove $100 at my celebrity party already. I dressed up pretty, braved the smell of alcohol and surprisingly had a wonderful time watching everybody get silly. One thing I did notice is that my dance moves are NOT AS GOOD  as they used to be. I found myself awkwardly bouncing off beat and trying to move smoothly. I mean...it was bad. I wished I felt well enough to even sip on champagne to make it better. 


The Karaoke cab was just as amazing as the first time. The Tiny Dancers + La Russian squuueeeezed into the neon van and belted Livin on a Prayer into our mics. The only problem...the ride was too short....they always are. 


So NYE was ok. much better than past NYEs for sure. I didn't get my usual anxiety during the countdown. Maybe because the countdown was lame and didn't really feel like a countdown. Maybe because I was distracted. Either way it helped.  

"La Naomi" helped me with my fantastic hairstyle. Am I allowed to have a girl crush on my friend? or only on celebrities you don't know? Because if Im allowed.. I call girl crushing  my friend "La Naomi" 

She is so pretty and nice and creative and I want to be her! 

Cheeseburger

So I have been beyond busy lately and havent had time to post anything about my non exciting workaholic life but I WILL say that I had a delicious cheeseburger tonight at funky hamburger joint in South Austin. It was scrumptious and the live music was a perfect addition to the night. GLORIOUS

BTW...la bet is off. La russian came to town a few weeks ago and we went to dinner together and broke the bet at the same time so I dont have to read Harry Potter. thank.goodness. I dont have time for wizzardry

"La BET"

Still haven't had a cheeseburger. It has been difficult but not as hard as depriving myself of Mexican food. "La Russian" agreed so we changed it. Instead of enjoying pure pleasure once every two weeks its now once a week. That sounds right.

As of now Im going strong and "La-dorable" (my personal trainer) was pleased with me when he took my measurements the other day. In just one week of NO cheeseburgers my %body fat went down drastically which made me loose inches as well. Sweet. Now if I could just land a date with sexy Mike who works at the counter. It will happen. I just need to wink a little more. ;)

Im off to Dallas to spend some girl time with the bestie.

"la BET"

I saw my adorable personal trainer today "la-dorable" and he asked me about how I did the last week with my diet.
L-a: "So how did you do this last week?"
me: "I....dont want to tell you"
L-a: "You have to tell me!"
me: "All I'll tell you is that I was on vacation since I last saw you....and it might have included lots of cheeseburgers"
L-a: "TAYLOR! how many? lots? geeeez!"
me: "it may or may not have been.....5"
L-a: almost fell over in pure shock and heart failure "Ok so what did you eat today?"

me:" I dont want to tell you"

L-a: looks at me frustratingly

me: "corn"

L-a: "what do you mean corn? like thats what you ate for lunch?"

me: "yea"

L-a: "like frozen corn"

me: "no like from a can"

L-a: "WHAT? You had corn from a can for lunch"

me: "THATS ALL I HAD!!!" I whimper. "IM SORRY IM POOR"

So with that....and the fact that my legs are comparable to an elephants trunk at the moment. I decided no more cheeseburgers.

Thats where Bjones comes in.

I tried to think of a nickname for him but he is just Bjones. Here were some considerations "la fun" "la flake" and "la stud" After a long, heated, mental debate (between "la flake" and "la stud" I decided to go with "la-first time I met him he made me a white russian and it was disgusting" aka "la white russian" or "la russian" for short.

In order to help both of our aging waistlines we have come up with an encouraging process to help us stay clear of our unhealthy vices.

"La Russian" and I have made "la BET"

1. First one to eat a cheeseburger loses

2. First one to have Mexican food MORE THAN ONCE within a two week time period...loses

IF "LA RUSSIAN" loses then he must come to Austin and country dance without writing a cheat sheet on his hand. He doesnt like to dance country. He prefers the ballet.

IF "LA BEAST" (me) loses then I have to read ALL of the Harry Potter books. Ok. those of you who know me know....I dont read. and when I do it isnt that HP nonsense. Everyone I talk to thinks I would LOVE it but quite frankly....i probably would. I just dont have the time nor do I have the desire to get trapped into a land from far far away. one with castles and wizards and magic and broomsticks. ehhhhhh...no thanks. and guess what- i wont read it because

IM NOT GOING TO LOSE. FILL UP THE TANK BJONES you got a trip to ATX soon!
