OSU homecoming

This weekend Pearl and I decided to take a cool cat like this
all the way to Oklahoma for OSU's homecoming game against Nebraska to wear foam fingers like this

but most importantly to visit my cousin Lora (and TB) and take a picture like this

and have a fun weekend of tailgating and football.

What I didn't realize was that OSU homecoming is ridiculous.
The fraternities pair up with a sorority and make things like this
Out of TISSUE PAPER AND CHICKEN WIRE
The house decorations rotate, spin, shift, open and do all things magical
which makes us curious and do things like this

Check out the house decoration that won from last year by watching this.

The good Lord didn't bless me with physical strength

Lets just talk about how I am not fit to take care of other people.

I can barely take care of myself but Traci is thanking the high heavens tonight that I am not her sole care giver. EVERY time I try to help Traci into her chair this is what happens.

I. Drop. Her.

i. DROP. her.
Every single time.
Well. f.

now what? it is almost impossible to lift her from that position when we are giggling uncontrollably.

Poor TB.
Sorry boo

What I love about Austin ::: {Oh Hey...}

hey cupcake

TB and my aunt are in town checking out the awesome treatment center Roll 2 Walk in downtown Austin. After her therapy sessions we have all the time in the world to play.
So we do.
And then we eat cupcakes.

OKLAHOMA..

...where the wind comes rollin down the plain (are those the words?)
This weekend I packed my boots (suede) and my camo gear (t-shirt) and flew north to Oklahoma. I got to spend some good quality time with the family. 2 members were missed. My aunt Susan (lives in Oregon) and....brother
We. Miss. BROTHER.

He is too busy being important in an important art school in Florida like winning important awards for being the coolest kid around. And when he isn't making his 4.0 or serving on every committee possible or starting a Quiddich team (yes. Harry Potter fans you're thinkin what Im thinkin) he is being adorable with his adorable girlfriend which leaves not enough time for sister time.

SO

We. Miss.Brother
and since I was at a farm in smalltown Oklahoma... might as well...
GO TO A PIG SHOW
you know
(shrugs shoulders)
might as well

Little cousin Seth was showin his pigs at the...pig....competition Saturday.
I learned more than I ever really wanted to know about pigs.
1. They are crazy
2. They are loud
3. They smell like all things unpleasant
3. If they stood up on their hind legs they are as tall as me

I also learned that I love the farm but also love the city. Glad to be back at work wearing pearls and not getting questioning looks for being fancy. We all know how I love to be fancy and fancy things like the spelling of the word moustache and also penguins

Goodnight loyal fans. Thanks for reading.
God is GOOD!

yayayaya!

TB got homecoming queen!

TB's escort rolled her out on the court and did a little spin with her in front of the crowd. I jumped up and down the minute I heard the news. I might have also screamed loudly. Alright, I did scream loudly.
I am so proud of TB. She is so positive. She is my personal rockstar.
 I admire her.
She was such a talented basketball player. (also really good at fouling the other team) I get the warm fuzzies thinking of her getting homecoming queen with the sport she loved to play.

I hope she decides to come to Austin for her therapy. I would love love LOVE to have her close to me. Instead of NINE hours away :(

TB is on the left. Her older sister Lora is coming to visit me in March. Yeeeehaw!
Goodness, they are both so pretty!

TB's new ride!

TB got her new chair today!
My beautiful 17 year old cousin was in a horrible accident last August that left her paralyzed from the waist down.
She is doing much better! Her back brace has been off for a couple weeks now and after 4 months she is starting to get her new routine down.
TB could still use our prayers though.
She is in high spirits but
Emotionally and physically.
Its just a tough time.

Thanks in advance!
and check out her new CUSTOMIZED RIDE!

Traci Beth Rutledge

This weekend Mom, Dad and I drove to OK city to see Traci. My aunt also flew in from Oregon and brought my grandmother down. Alex was all that was missing. :( We spent the entire weekend with Traci. It was a very emotional weekend, but it was much needed. Traci won't be able to walk but still has full use of her arms and will be able to lead a fully functional life! YAY!
Prayers are still needed as she begins to accept her new life and the obstacles that are yet to come.
Traci was in high spirits, crackin' jokes and everything. She doesnt have much of an appetite but was able to sit up in her wheelchair for most of the morning Sunday without her blood pressure dropping! YAHOO!
Lora and I decorated her room with posters of sexy RPatz to cheer her up. She has the most well loved room in that hospital. Visitors are still constantly dropping by, a sure sign of how much of an impact Traci has made on peoples' lives.

Thanks for reading! I appreciate you!

Labor Day Weekend

I hope everyone had a fantastic day off from laboring and a relaxing three-day weekend. I traveled to OK City to see dearest Traci Beth. Shes lookin better! I'll update tomorrow with that.
But for now...I am celebrating James Morrison. I listened to him for most of my 6 hour trip back to Austin today.
Here are some pics I took when Kelly and I went to see him in May. He is INCREDIBLE live!
What a pretty boy, that James.
But tomorrow is back to work. Better hit the hay.

Prayers Needed

Last night my dear cousin, Traci, was in a horrible accident. She is out of surgery but is paralyzed from the waist down. Pray for her recovery and for our family. Thank you.

{This is one of her stunning senior pics taken a few weeks ago}

"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." Romans 15:13

Sidenote: Today Jordan and I tried out a new church. We really liked it and I learned a lot. A post about that soon to come.
