Taking control of my life....for 20 minutes

Yesterday I was fed up with the fact that I was at work (didn't leave my windowless classroom or school corridors) for a solid 12.5 hours. I left work pissed with a laundry list of things to do once I got home.
Yesterday.... I did none of them.

Im tired of wasting my days without any me time. Time alone to myself (sleeping doesn't count). Im tired of talking. Im tired of listening. Im tired that I don't have time to develop artistically. I'm just sick and tired of being sick and tired. Instead I decided to draw. I turned up some Aaron Ivey and started sketching hoping that I would be inspired for a new painting for the living room.  My delicate little fingers danced across the page producing this 20 minutes later. It was all I needed. I was soothed.

(No, there is no relation to Aaron Ivey's music and my drawing....other than they both could be classified as hipster)

Do you see Kanye peekin in dat corner?

What. What.

1 week from today my life will get a lot less complicated and busy and unbearable. Can't. Wait.

Picture Post

All I could muster up today is a boring picture post from Crash's birthday weekend.
1.5 more weeks and then I have my life back again.
Be patient young grasshoppers.
More exciting posts are soon to follow.
But for now look at my pretty friends

Tiny Dancers= pretty ladies

Why is it when more than 2 boys are in the same room
they act 5?

Birthday Boy

Today is Crash-y boiiii's birthday.

He's off in Pecos, Texas 6 hours away, in the middle of no where, on a project for work all by him lonesome.
(said in country accent)

But the Tiny Dancers and I helped him celebrate this past weekend and we will again this next weekend.
Yay for week long birthdays. Those are the best!

Doesn't he look cute in his glasses?
You should tell him to wear them more.
ilike.
(but I'm a sucker for men in glasses)

Happy Monday. I hope this week is stressless and you have time to relax and enjoy the good things going on in your life.

I am going to attempt to read more this week.
Maybe
No I will
We'll see

Trailer Recuts

If you want to be the most unproductive human alive. Sit your little hiney in front of Youtube and watch all the trailer recuts.

My awesome coworker/partner in crime/ love for archery sharer friend "Abra" was a rockstar today and used the original and recut trailers to talk about tone and mood in her Language Arts class. She rocks.

Then she showed them to me. Where I then proceeded to shed a good hour of valuable time off my free time clock engrossed in these recuts.

Enjoy

83 days

I know I said I was taking a hiatus. I have 69 things I should be doing right now but since I went from this
to this

I thought Id celebrate my productivity with a sweet little dessert post.
One that I know I shouldn't partake in (you havent seen my to do list) but I want to so bad that I cant help but give into my cravings.
I cant be all work and no play for 2 weeks, what was i thinking?
-------------------------------------------------------------

While I was @ Barnes and Noble against my will yesterday searching for a work related book, I found said waste of paper of a book conveniently located next to this

I did a quick double take, a little skip pivot and stood silently, in front of this heaven for a good 5 minutes before I decided that I couldn't touch any of the books. For fear of instant melting or spontaneous excitement combustion if i did. My body begrudgingly walked away towards the career section of the book store as if I was pulling 6 semi's full of raisin bran behind me. I kept looking back like a lost child or puppy or something else sad.

After 20 minutes of me trying to convince my self that the purchase of a trashcan in the book form was worth 60$$$ my brow was furrowed and I had forgotten about my earlier find (note memory problems). I peace towards the front of the store in need of a drink or twelve.

"OP! Well hello. We meet again! How dare you tempt me with carefree thoughts and dreams of exploration and laughter and stressless days where I can frolic in poppy filled pastures with beaf eaters who serenade me with Beatles songs the whole time.
How Dare You, Travel section.
Cant you see this giant brick in my hand I need to memorize by Wednesday?
I despise you, shelf.
Stupid England shelf"

So for the better half of today I did not memorize my brick (insert clever metaphor here) but instead researched more and more about London.

83 days
(until I have to be as skinny as Sterlyn)
until I can skip in poppy fields.

Hurry up. work is getting in the way of life.

Easter Weekend

Holidays are a great time to get together with friends and family.
The Tiny Dancers and I got together, naturally, for a night of fun.

I absolutely adore these girls.

I am so grateful  to have had 10 years of friendship with these lovelies.

Of course Crash came too :)

and then the next day the parentals and I watched Crash
and beads of sweat glisten off his sexy muscles,
glorify God
as he rocked the drums during worship at church.

I also got to spend some great quality time with bestie making everybody annoyed at Borders Books by being obnoxiously loud like we were 6th graders again.

Guess what.... GLEE NEXT WEEK.
I. Cant. Wait.
La naomi is pretty

i am also taking a break from blogging.
be back in a week or two.
much love

why i had the best day

So now that I have a second to breathe I get to talk about whats been going on in my life.

  1. IM GOING TO ENGLAND!!!! I bought my ticket finally last week and will be bolting around tricking out London for a week with the Tiny Dancers before we sneak off to Paris for another week. Cant wait to hang with rockstar Paper Planes and see James Morrison in concert and be blinded by all other things british like order pots of tea at a restaurant and order bangers and mash. Unfortunately, I will be vacationing during July- prime guacamole months. Those Brits just don't know how to do avocado.
England? (raises one hand)
Guacamole? (raises the other hand higher)
England? (raises the first hand again higher than the second)
Guacamole? (raises the second hand higher)
ENGLAND! (raises first hand in excitement)
I can live with crappy guacamole for 2 weeks.

  2. The Fault Song
So we have moved into Earth Science at school. My absolute FAVORITE topic and probably one of the hardest tests all year. One of the hardest concepts to tackle during this unit is the different types of faults. Which one is caused by stress? Which one does the hanging wall go up? what is a hanging wall in general? what is the footwall? how can you tell the difference.

Ugh. I always hated this part of earth science. I never really understood it until I had to teach it. Then I made up a rap. To Kevin Rudolf and Lil' Wayne's "Let it rock". The kids were obsessed with it and even made up dance moves. We practiced it everyday. The other 6th grade science classes could hear us and got jealous so their teachers asked me to come in and teach it to their classes. I did but neither team was as close to as good as my beast of a team.

My principal agreed to let me have a competition among teams at lunch last thursday (me knowing full well who would win). I led 300-350 6th grade students in the first ever fault song cafeteria competition. We sang it five times. Started all together. Then we broke off and did each team as loud as their little voices could scream and then finally ending with it all in unison again. My kids did SO GOOD that the other teams were booing. BAHAHA so proud of my little boogers.

Here is a little sneak peek of what dominated the lunch room last Thursday.
No, you cant hear what they are saying but just imagine how baller it is
I cant explain to you how overjoyed I was!
Happy Easter! He is RISEN INDEED!

ps paper planes has a new single. go listen to it at   http://www.facebook.com/paperplanes
