well, wasnt Thursday eventful in ATX?

Thursday an angry man expressed himself by flying his plane into a government building.

Events of the day:
5:00: my alarm freaks out thus jolting me from my dream with Adam Brody and Snoopy. Adam Brody and I were enjoying ourselves and snoopy was randomly barking in the background. Does snoopy bark?

5:30: My feet fall to the ground as heavy as weights. It was like pulling sandbags across my room with toothpicks forcing myself to the gym.

6:00-7:00 I shower (nothing exciting there) and get ready. It is important to mention that I actually straightened my hair which doesn't happen often.

7:00-7:20: "La roommate" and I bolt to work

7:19: My memory juices decided to (semi) work inside my brain today and I remembered that I accidentally left the straightener on. because I never use it.

" F" We live 20 minutes South oneway, and I have a meeting in 20 minutes.

7:30: I desperately search and then find someone to cover my class 2nd period so I could bolt home and turn off the straightener. Confession: I am a slob at the moment. You cant see the floor in my room and my desk is a cluttered mess. I was afraid something was touching my straightener on accident and my house would be up in flames.

9:15: I leave for the hike back home hoping to be back in time by 3rd period.

About 15 minutes down the road I see a huge, thick, dark, black cloud of smoke over, what looks to be, possibly my neighborhood.
My first thoughts are "HOLY SMOKES! MY HOUSE IS ON FIRE!!!!!" My heart begins to beat faster and my palms begin to sweat. OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMGGGGGGGGGG

As I get closer I realize it was most definitely an unfortunate house fire, one of the biggest I've seen....but not mine. PHEW! I began to wonder if multiple houses were on fire. So I said a little prayer and went on my way nervous about what I would find at my home.

9:37 ish: I am still on the highway and see a small plane flying super low. My initial thoughts are
"Oh this must be a plane going to get an arial view of the house fire." "I bet this plane is going to go pour water on this house fire. How nice"

Little did I know....

9:42 I pull into my drive way, to find my adorably painted house intact and my STRAIGHTENER OFF.
I question my sanity, relieve my bladder and text my brother before returning the 25 minute drive the other direction.

9:50 ish: I get back onto the highway and see a second plume of black smoke coming further west from the house fire.  I thought "oh no! something else is on fire! Strange to have two buildings so badly on fire" This second plume of smoke wasn't as thick as the house fire. It looked as though it just happened.

11:03 I get in my car to go grab lunch and hear on the radio that a plane hit a building. Once I get back,  I turn on the t.v. in my classroom. Sure enough the house fire I had driven by was Joe Stack's house he had set on fire. The airplane I saw was Joe Stack flying to the IRS building. While I was inside my house relieving my bladder the plane hit the building and the second plume of smoke I saw was from the burning IRS building.

Creepy and weird.
I can't believe more people were not injured

Get with it.

I am really envious of people that are thoughtful. Not only thoughtful but also deliverers of this noted thoughtfulness. Are you following me? No? Let me explain.
I am constantly thinking of my friends and family and ways to surprise or make them happy, however I am flawed. I RARELY follow through with my thoughtfulness.

My fun friend Jordan (aside from bestie, Danielle) is the "Deliverer of Thoughtfulness". It will be etched onto her headstone. (Taylor,  you're morbid) It will be added to her business card.

Fun Friend Jordan won an award from University of Texas for being fantastic and this is especially  great to receive after one year of teaching. Then our school district honored her for being awarded from UT. Im ridiculously proud of her and thought for WEEKS about what to get a girl that has everything as a congratulatory gift.

Then on the eve of her award ceremony she gives ME A GIFT. Just because.
Just because my fun friend Jordan is awesome.

I hate it when it this happens.
I feel....
I feel.... Owned.
I have good intentions and I try but then BAM. Fun Friend Jordan follows through aaaand... Owned.
She gifted me when I should have gifted her. Owned.
I am beyond grateful..but.. seriously, Taylor,
Get your S*&# together

I would also like to send more thank you cards.

Cant wait to pass out early tonight...like right now.

Notice and appreciate small favors that your co-workers do for you. And thank them whole heartedly.
Happy week!

moustache partay

I should be doing lots of other things right now like cooking dinner, cleaning out my car, preparing my lunch for tomorrow, doing my laundry, dominating p90X ab ripper workout, tackling the last set of projects to grade orrrr PACKING for Dallas for KRICKS engagement party tomorrow.

but no.

I would like to blog. So blogging I will do.

Yesterday Fun Friend Jordan and I celebrated moustaches at a moustache party. Well, technically a happy hour....but who doesn't like the sound of attending a moustache party? GLORIOUS.
I like spelling moustache...moustache...instead of mustache because it sounds and looks fancier.
I like fancy things.
Including penguins because they look fancy.

I also love running into my friend Clark that I know from when I lived in Dallas. I have a new game.
Its called "guess how many events I will go to and run in to Clark"  because it happens a lot.

I also look like an unpopular German that existed in the earlier half of last century. Sick.

Wind Cars

Man O Man have I been in a funk lately. Hence lack of blog posts.

Today at school we made and raced wind cars. I smile when I see my kids so excited. I even wanted to sit around and pout today but they wouldn't let me. They unknowingly brought me joy, painting a smile on my face and leaving me with a worry free mind (for the time being).  God knew what He was doing when He had me plan such a happy lesson last week, that just so happened to fall on a day I needed a pick me up.

This video displays their feet's (word?) excitement. Just imagine what their beautiful faces looked like :)

(I sound kinda bossy. Will add to list of things to fix for tomorrow)

and its mommy's 60th birthday! I cant wait go home tomorrow and surprise her with the gift!

Krickie's Engaged

This goofball best friend of mine decided to go off and get engaged.
I admittedly think I am having a hard time with this new and upcoming  life change.
You see, she has always been mine. Now I must share her?
Not fair.
No one asked me.

This picture is actually the night she met her fiance NYE 2008. Now thats a story. Remind me to tell you later.
Congrats Krick and Tyler!

Drummer Boy

I have taken a nice, long, 4 and a 1/2 day break from anything computer. No email checking, no twittering (except for once yesterday) no Facebook and no blog posting. ahhhhh. I must say, it feels quite relaxing sometimes. Until I check my email this morning to all of the parent emails I had gotten over the weekend about the project that was due today in class. oops! Oh well. the weekends are my days off. I technically don't HAVE to respond.

The reason for my hiatus? Drummer boy came to visit. Previously nicknamed "nicknameless boy", but I decided drummer boy is his best description. maybe la drummer? drumsticks? Tama? Snare? China cymbal? high hat? splash? crash?
WAIT a tick......Crash sounds kinda cool.
Dangerous
Loud
When you see one you always have to check it out.

wowoweeeewaaaa. Im funny.
Crash. it. is.
(crash is a type of cymbal on a drum set)

and please, try not to drool over Crash's amazing rhythmical talent.  He's crazy good.

A special thanks to Multicolored Sprinkles for her shout out to my blog. I love giraffes. Shes neat. I like her.

Happy Week to all! Its February!
Take on a challenge with me this week.
No Complaining!
:)
Good Luck
