My friends threw me a lovely picnic at the park with all of my favorite things and even surprised me with the sassy shoes I had been wanting!

But the best surprise of the weekend was Ms Lindsey Brown showing up on my front doorstep 2 months early from LIBERIA. I pounced on her. I am going to miss these lovelies.

CJ de Mayo

This past weekend we had a fiesta to raise money for my friend CJ's mission trip.
God showed up. It was AWESOME.

But we also played fun games including one of Laurel's all time faves... watch below

and she ASKED to play this game.

If you don't believe God answers prayers...Ask me about what happened at CJ de Mayo :) :)

A Dallas Weekend

Welcome to my life. I have two actually. One in Austin, the other in Dallas. Monday through Friday I am devoted to 12 year olds in Austin and on the weekends I am devoted to...planning my best friends wedding..well among other things. :)

I headed to Dallas last weekend to watch a disappointing Aggie Bowl Game against LSU. Honestly the Ags had no chance at stealing that bowl title because
A.  They were doing so well at the beginning so of course they eff it up. They cant ever just play well the entire game  AND
B. The SEC is just so GOOD.

We had a good time nonetheless and bolted around McKinney afterward like we owned the place.

I head to Dallas again this weekend to visit my second life for the extended holiday weekend.
iexcite.
MLK you rock (and thanks for the day off)

Friends+Beach= New Year

This year was my favorite New Years Eve of all.
Pearl and I ventured to Galveston for a Girls Weekend.

I so desperately needed time with some of my bible study ladies.

We were total girls this weekend. No boys or rules allowed. We were in our matching pajamas at 5:30pm, we played the new x-box dance game, had a delicious meal, played beer pong with costumes, chants and game faces, ate junk food, tried to watch aladdin and were asleep by 11:30.  Thats what I call an EXCELLENT New Years Eve. The next day was spent exploring the  charming town of Galveston and of course a photo shoot at the beach. yes. we had to do the jumping picture.

It was wonderful ringing in the year with some of my favorite people.
Wouldn't have had it any other way.

Sometime in the near future.. It'll happen
I predict the prankster side of me will surface before you know it
and it will be a circus show.

Tiny Dancer photo shoot at the Eastern Market

The trip to DC was exactly what I needed... what we all needed. Nothing can turn stress and worries away like laughter, shopping and champaign. Love these girls more than I can ramble on about on a blog post.
We missed Elise, Sterlyn and Emily (the remaining tiny dancers)

Another one down

A tiny dancer is engaged!

(pictures I took on the Brooklyn Bridge with my Diana last August on a trip to NYC)
Corey proposed to Katelyn on the Brooklyn Bridge Friday morning and surprised her with a flight back to Dallas and an engagement party with 50 or so of their closest family and friends waiting to celebrate with them.

Champaign, toasts, good food and company were all had.
YAY for love!

Krick's Bachelorette

Krick's getting married and this weekend we made sure she partied in style. It was a beautiful reunion weekend with 20 of Krick's fellow admirers traveling the distance to celebrate with her. Among those were past roomies who have detailed the weekend on their blogs here and here.

But I'll end with this.
I love my life.
I love my friends.
and I fell off my step during a step workout class today.

titleless post

I am just sitting here on my couch thinking about things and I've come to the conclusion that I just freaking adore my friends. Every single one of them shapes and molds me into a better person and I am so thankful to have such loving wonderful people in my life.

I am ridiculously excited about this weekend. I get to see two different sets of friends IN ONE WEEKEND. Lucky Lucky Me.

Tomorrow night the Tiny Dancers and I will be out celebrating one special girls b-day.

And Saturday I will reunite with my college loves to celebrate this sexy kid

Austin

This weekend I fell in love with my city.
Like really fell in love with it. I don't take advantage of it enough. There is so much to do, so many funky places to eat at and so many incredible views like this one!
This is a little spot I found along my usual running path. I love coming here at night and seeing the lights of the city reflect off the lake.
This weekend I went to Red Brick Pizza, a cozy little pizza bar, where I got pineapples on my pizza.
I went to Halcyon coffee house where they serve you SMORES at the table and then went out to west 6th street for a night on the town.

I planned my route 5 different times this weekend to drive up South Congress because Im obsessed with the view of The Capitol.

On my day off, I am going running at town lake (and right past this little spot) then I am taking Diana with me to south congress to have a little fun.

Alexia came to visit!

ALEXIA CAME TO VISIT!

My roommate last year of college is so wise. I really enjoy her company. We cooked dinner (what is with me?) and chatted and got a little crazy dancin around the room.

Without fail, Alex and I will speak in terrible British accents the length of EVERY conversation we have. We have fun. I love her.

Check out her wise yet witty outlook on life at her blog

Dont mind my post yoga attractiveness

Aren't my lime green walls fun?!?!

Tiny Dancers and the Spazmatics

Some of the Tiny Dancers and I went to see the 80's cover band, Spazmatics, Saturday. We had a blast rocking like rockstars all night.

But the best part of the night was Chico and his KARAOKE CAB
What? those exists?
YES.
It was glorious and I vow never take a regular cab again. Don't fret homeslice, we already booked him for NYE.

Chico had his own microphone and sang the back up vocals.
I would have video footage to prove this greatness....but then I dropped my iphone in water.
$200 repair aka new iphone.
Darn.

Jenny Pham Pham

I adore my friends. All of them. Especially this girl.
She came to Austin for a visit....all the way from NYC.
Remember when I went to visit her in August here

We had a great time downtown last night, eating gourmet grilled cheese from Chedds (my NEWEST favorite thing)  and vintage shopping. We also went to see the Blind Side...which I knew was going to be a tear jerker. I feel like it is appropriate time to express my strong urge to foster a child. I have wanted to (years from now ofcourse) for a while now and this movie only wanted me to do it more. Such an incredible movie. See it!

Krickie

Reeeeeeeeeeeallly missing this kid right now. My college roommate and bestie. Its wierd not having her around eating corn or Ritz crackers for every meal. This girl is the funniest person I know and doesnt even have to try. (thats supposed to be a compliment...doesnt sound like one though)

No words can express how much I love her.

Dearest Natalie Joy,
I miss our dance parties and your obsession with ice cream and the weird way you ate it. I miss your hilarious fantasies, esp about Matt Wertz.  I miss teaching you how to give a backrub (thanks to Billzzz) because secretly (well... maybe not too secretly) I just wanted you to practice on my shoulders. I miss how we could sit at our desks in separate rooms but it felt like we were sitting right next to each other (TANCD house). I miss our creaky loft where we slept in a row at the sorority house. I miss singing in the shower at the top of my lungs and you finishing my verses from the other room.

GAHHHHHHHH i miss you!

Oh and that lovely picture of us was taken before our sorority's Nerd Date Partyin 2007.
Werent we HOT?!?!

Happy Birthday Shannon!

This weekend I will be home in Dallas celebrating her special day with this young lady.

Happy Birthday Shannon! looooooove you!

Get excited cause...I am replacing my 1st generation iphone this weekend after 2 years of service. I am also trying not to think about all of my electronic memories that have been erased off of my external hard drive. That includes every picture I have ever taken, video footage (both trips abroad and wedding footage especially of the one I am working on now) and all important work information.
(which is why I am not thrilled about the picture choice on this post but its the only pic I could find of the both of us.

Happy WEEKEND!
